The new club Captain, Paul Kirkman, won Division Two and the Monthly Medal on Sunday with an outstanding 55 net.

Full Monthly Medal results: Div.One - 1st Mike Hatch 71-11=60(L9), 2nd Francis Vickerstaffe 74-14=60, 3rd Ray Pearce 75-14=61, 4th Andy Hurrell 78-15=63. Sue Harvey won the Ladies’ Monthly Medal on Saturday with 95-30=65. Carole Jones was second with 93-26=67 on the last nine from Linda Gale with 102-35=67 and Alison Jacka fourth with 86-18=68.

Dave Rollason has won the Pilcher Trophy with 24 trophy points. Ray Crebo was second with 24, Joe Hill third with 23 and Lester Pickhaver fourth with 21.

Matt Tregenza won the weekly Stableford with 38 points. Andy Hurrell was second with 31, David Phillips third with 30 and Richard Dunn fourth with 29.

Elizabeth Murrish won the Ladies’ 9-hole Stableford on Wednesday with Jennifer Chambers second and Diana Kelynack third. Jennifer Chambers also won the putting competition.

The Cross Country (9-holes Stableford) takes place on Friday; the junior section meets on Saturday morning; the Ladies play a Stableford on Saturday afternoon; the Men play for the Stanmar Trophy (singles Medal) on Sunday and the Sandum Salver Mixed Foursomes (Stableford) is on Monday with a 5.00p.m. (17.00hrs) Tee time.

Joe Hill & Rod Jones won the Men’s Four Ball Better Ball with a fine 44 points. Ray Pearce & David Phillips were second with 42, Andy Hurrell & Matt Tregenza third with 41 and Mike Hatch & Nigel Waters fourth with 40.

Barbara Wilkins won the Ladies’ Stableford on Saturday with 36 points. Phyllis Williams was second with 34 on countback from Judy Harris.

Ben Bailey won the Junior Stableford on Saturday morning with a super 41 points. Connor Murley was second with 39, Tyler Rule third with 38 and Ben Rollason fourth with 31.

Joe Hill leads the way after three rounds of the Pilcher Trophy with Dave Rollason second, Lester Pickhaver third and Ray Crebo fourth.

Paul Kirkman was elected as the new Club Captain at the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday. Mike Hatch is Vice-Captain with Jim Blain, Colin Cratchley, Anna Harry, Simon Phillips, Ann Seabrook and Francis Vickerstaffe making up the new committee. Richard Dunn was awarded ‘Golfer of the Year’ and Rod Jones awarded the 'Most Improved Golfer'.

Ken McIlroy won the Men’s Stableford on Sunday with 42 points. David Phillips was second with 41 and Francis Vickerstaffe third with 40 on the last six holes from Nigel Waters.

Ray Pearce defeated Barry Knowles in the final of the Laurie Fogg Knockout Trophy.

Men’s Winter Eclectic: Winner - Richard Dunn, Best gross - Mike Jacka, Best Front 9 - William Giddings, Best Back 9 - Simon Phillips.

The Captain’s team won the Captain versus Vice-Captain team match on Sunday by 7 matches to 5.

Jennifer Chambers & Dave Rollason won the Praa Sands Goblets Mixed Foursomes (Medal~ regular partners) on Saturday with 63.0 net. Sue Harvey & Simon Phillips were second with 67.5 and Jackie & Roger Quick third with 71.0.

Dave Rollason won the first Round of the Pilcher Trophy (9-holes Stableford) with 20 points on countback from Lester Pickhaver and Linda Gale. Joe Hill was fourth with 19

Ann Seabrook was voted in as the new Lady Captain of Praa Sands Golf Club at the Ladies’ Annual Meeting on Saturday. Judy Harris is the Vice-Captain with Phyllis Williams, Jennifer Chambers, Alison Jacka, Anna Harry and Linda Gale making up the new Committee. During the meeting, Carole Jones was awarded 'Most Improved Golfer of 2008/2009' and Anna Harry was awarded 'Golfer of the Year' (for the second year running).

Dave Rollason defeated Matt Tregenza in the play-off for the Patrick Harry Memorial Trophy.

Francis Vickerstaffe won the Monthly Medal and Division One on Sunday with 62 net. Dave Rollason (21 h/cap) and Matt Tregenza (19 h/cap) each returned net 58’s on Sunday and will now play off for the Men’s Patrick Harry Memorial Trophy (max h/cap 24). Steve Strick was third with 70-10=60.

Caroline Worrell won the Ladies’ Carpyssick Rose Bowl (max h/cap 32), played alongside their Monthly Medal, on Saturday with 84-18=66. Ann Seabrook was second with 95-25=70 and Judy Harris third with 101-30=71 on the last nine holes from Elizabeth Murrish.

Chris Tonkin won the Ladies' Jubilee Rose Bowl (Bogey Plus) on Saturday with a score of all square. Barbara Wilkins was second with -3 on countback from Jennifer Chambers and Judy Harris fourth with –5.

Carole Jones was presented with the Medals Finals Trophy which she won last week with a superb net 60.

Chris Dunn & Len Stevens won the Barry Mounter Trophy Final on Sunday. They defeated Ray Pearce & David Phillips at the eighteenth hole in a very closely contested final.

Tony Boyce & Francis Vickerstaffe set the course alight with a fantastic 47 points to win the Men’s Four Ball Better Ball, also on Sunday. Andy Hurrell & Matt Tregenza were second with 43 and Gareth Clemens & Nigel Waters third with 41 on the last nine holes from John & Paul Murrish.

A very in-form Carole Jones won the Ladies’ Medal on Saturday with a superb round of 89-29=60. Alison Jacka was second with 83-18=65, Chris Tonkin third with 95-28=67 and Phyllis Williams fourth with 105-36=69.

Richard Dunn & William Giddings won the Four Ball Better Ball, played alongside the knockout, with 42 points. John & Paul Murrish were second with 39, Andy Hurrell & Matt Tregenza third with 37 and Dave Rollason & Ken McIlroy fourth with 35.

In a closely fought match, the Vice-Captain's team won the Ladies' Captain v Vice-Captain match on Saturday. Anna Harry won the Birdie Tree for the second year running and Judy Harris won the Par Tree.

The event, with hampers generously sponsored by Francis Vickerstaffe, raised £120 for the S.A.F.A. Charity with every player winning a prize of poultry or Christmas Fare.
