Byslades

Just a few miles from the stretch of Torbay that makes up the English Riviera, Byslades is close enough to be handy to all the excitement and attractions that Paignton, Torquay and Brixham have to offer, yet far away to be quiet and restful.

It’s the beaches that many of our visitors look forward to, and within a few miles you can be enjoying every sort of water sport. There’s safe diving with both BSAC and PADI diving schools, sailing, with dinghies and ‘cats’ for hire, fishing from both shore and charter boat, waterskiing and windsurfing, with equipment hire and tuition should you ask. For the youngsters pedalos or ‘canoes’ can be hired on most of the large beaches, as can motor boats for fishing or pottering around the bay from beaches, harbours and the local river areas.

As evening approaches, why not visit the Blagdon Inn, our 15th century Pub & Restaurant based within the grounds of our sister park, Haulfryn Paignton, here you will find a friendly atmosphere. The Blagdon is within easy walking distance from the park

Locally

Locally Perhaps the best way to get a feel for this beautiful part of the world is to travel on the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam Railway enjoying the stunning coastal scenery all the way down to Kingswear.

You’ll love Paignton, it’s a real resort town. There are pubs and restaurants aplenty, many on the seafront with lovely views out over the sands to the sea, and more tucked away in the small harbour, where you can also choose from a host of different boat trips. There’s a traditional Victorian theatre, newly refurbished and with great entertainment, a multiplex cinema, great shopping, nightclubs, and most importantly, miles of wonderful golden sands to enjoy; and all within a town known for its elegance and architectural style. In the other direction there’s Dartmoor, with its wild heath land, miles of emptiness and charming villages.
